WELCOME

Music plays a very large part in the life of the Cathedral today, as it has for many hundreds of years. It is possibly at its highest standard ever in musical terms, and the Dean and Chapter (the Cathedral's governing body) is delighted and proud to have our regular worship enhanced by four groups of singers: the Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs, usually supported by a team of 6 Lay Clerks, and a voluntary group of adults who comprise the Cathedral Voluntary Choir.

Rochester Cathedral, and its Foundation (of which the "professional" choirs are part), aims to witness to the love of God in Jesus Christ through its art and architecture, its worship and music, its welcoming openness to pilgrims, visitors and its local communities; and in particular to serve the bishop and diocese of Rochester. The fulfilment of this mission depends in large part on the huge contribution made by our choirs. We hope that you will enjoy this site, and join us in our worship.
